Thompson Reuters Super Lawyers and Rising Star List
The majority of the firm’s attorneys have been selected for the Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists, while John Smith founder and principal, celebrates his tenth consecutive selection to the Super Lawyers list. Each year, only 5% of attorneys are selected by the Super Lawyers research team to receive this honor. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that results in a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
US News & World Report
The Smith Firm, PC has been ranked as a Tier 1 Law Firm for multiple years. The U.S.News – Best Lawyers® "Best Law Firms” rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. To be eligible for a ranking, a "Best Law Firm” must have at least one lawyer listed in 19th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America list for that particular location and specialty.
ALM Martindale-Hubbell Rankings
Several Smith Firm attorneys have been ranked as AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. This rating indicates the rated lawyer has been deemed by his or her peers to have demonstrated the highest level of ethical standards and legal ability. Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings are driven by the confidential opinions of lawyers and members of the judiciary who provide reviews of lawyers about whom they have professional knowledge. The Veen Firm was listed among the best law firms as a Top Rated Law Firm of San Francisco for 2014.
Avvo Rating
Many of our attorneys have received a "Superb” rating by Avvo. Avvo’s ratings are based on public information on each attorney, as well as peer endorsements.
American Board of Trial Advocates
Two of the firm’s attorneys have been invited to be members of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA is one of the most prestigious professional invitation-only organizations for trial attorneys. There are high standards for inclusion, including high personal character, and honorable reputation.
